No, you can’t. Even worse. Not every I9 firmware you download off the net will work with your particular model. These Chinese phones are bloody randomly built, even though they all have MTK processor and look similar their FWs are not always interchangeable. I’ve googled and flashed dozens of which only a couple actually worked with mine. There’s no other way to find out but try and error.

Sorry, guys, but that tutorial was made too long ago, I even no longer own this phone since mine got eventually broken. Can’t remember any details about the procedure. This video is the only help I can offer.

It means that you have to purchase your version of SpiderMan which comes with a dongle box. Alternatively – google is your best friend, “spiderman box was not connected” is a good starting point.

In the video I actually reflash the phone with the original firmware it came with. No fancy features.
Does the firmware that you flashed have the upgraded keyboard layout? I just bought one and I intend to monkey around with it when I get it. Hopefully, get firmware that lets the keyboard switch horizontal and vertical depending on how it’s held.
As for the questions about where to get the cable, firmware and stuff. There’s a great forum i9forum co uk where you can find instruction on how to build a DIY cable, firmwares, FAQs etc. Personally, I just searched ebay for “i9 flashing cable” to find mine. As for the flashing software I gave you the names – google is your best friend, search and ye shall find!
And for the different models – I don’t know, but the process must be similar for all MTK based phones.
